INGV participates in the European Civil Protection Forum in Brussels in June 28-29, 2022 with the SAVEMEDCOASTS-2 project, funded by DGECHO. The goal of the project is to prepare the coastal populations to the risks deriving from sea level rise induced by global warming.
The SAVEMEDCOASTS-2 project, born in 2019, is the second phase of the SAVEMEDCOASTS project with the aim of providing projections and scenarios of sea level rise up to the year 2100 even in conditions of storms and tsunamis. The expected effects are shown by high resolution maps that take into account the subsidence of the coast measured through specific analyzes. These can support policy makers for conscious coastal management.
